And, we're off....

Long time no blog, but when you are just keeping your head down working there isn’t all that much to write about.  However, this morning I am up early and about to make the 15 minute dingy run from Bastimientos Island over to Bocas del Toro.  Once there I’ll hope a water taxi to Almirante and then busses for the next three hours to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca in Costa Rica.  A friend of mine has been boat sitting in the San Blas for the last three months and has to leave Panama so she can renew her Visa.  I am tagging along for the excuse to visit Costa Rica, but did manage to set up a short notice visit to the SOS Children’s Village and Social Center that operate in Limon, Costa Rica.

It feels good to be moving again even if it is by bus.  New parts have finally arrived for the engine and I am now just waiting on my new mizzen sail which should be here on the third or fourth.  After that, I’ll start pulling things together for the 350 mile jump to Cartagena, Colombia.  There are people in Cartagena who have the skills I need for some big projects like an engine overhaul.  It is a busy place over the holidays so I need to get in there by early October to grab a slip while the boat is disabled.  Cheers to moving on.
