Somehow, slowing down and enjoying life makes it pass so much more quickly. In two more days I’ll have been out of Texas for a month. I love Isla Mujeres, but I feel the pull to get moving again. I have a flight out of Honduras March 17th and I need to find a safe place to secure the boat for a two week trip back to the U.S.
I haven’t done a single boat project since I’ve left. I think the last three weeks have been one big decompression after realizing a dream that has been six plus years in the making. Tomorrow will bring the return of offshore boat prep. I’ve got a steering issue to resolve and some drawer latches to build. Nothing too critical otherwise. I am ready to get out of the tourist part of the Yucatan. Wind and weather permitting, next week may hold a departure for a small island called Cayo Norte inside a coral atoll. It’s supposed to be a beautiful isolated place.
Here are a few random shots from around Isla Mujeres. The crew of SOEL and I have been running all over it on their three bicycles. It’s good to have friends.
