I’ll have to write the story up in more detail, but I love this city. Jill and I got in late last night and were lost from the word go. To my astonishment the locals not only were able to tell us, but went one better and drove to the hotel in the old town allowing us to follow them right to our front door. We made it across the Yucatan jungle with no map and no real directions and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
The Cathedral and old town square here are really something special. It was surreal to be here after looking at so many pictures thinking this would be my first port of call. I think tonight will be a walking tour with the cameras. Internet at the hotel is great so I’ll try to get some photos uploaded and I’ve already got one video for you. Tomorrow should bring a return to Isla Mujeres and visit to Chichen Itza, one of the largest of the Mayan ruin sites.
Day 2: Things are starting to look up. Video
