Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  I''d forgotten how much I used to enjoy road trips.  It was a great chance to relax and sit still for a few hours and reflect on everything that''s changed in the past year.  I don''t think I''ve ever taken such a dramatic turn in my life in a 12 month period before.  I am sitting in the house I grew up in with my parents, brother, aunt, uncle, and cousins eagerly waiting for the bird to finish cooking.

Part of this trip home was not only to say a few goodbyes, but to clear up some paperwork including a Will, Power of Attorney, and Living Will.  These things make for some morbid conversation, but have to be done.  I also dug up an old 30 inch spear gun I got when I was a kid and got certified to scuba dive.  It needs new rubbers, but I''ll rebuild it just like everything else and put it to good use.  I also scored some good prescriptions including some codeine for extreme pain and cipro which is a super strong all around antibiotic.  These two meds round out my medical kit.

Come Saturday I''ll fly home, bag full of turkey sandwiches, and start looking for a weather window.  It''s hard to believe I am really on the verge of going.
